Greetings from PA, where I’m attending the International Cultic Studies Association Conference and celebrating my freedom! In 2012, I celebrated with ICSA in Washington DC. Seems right somehow, right blog monitor?
Nothing makes you appreciate the meaning of democracy than leaving a cult. I hope that the rest of you are celebrating your freedom, too. And, blog monitor, I hope that, someday, you, too, taste the sweetness of a “school”-free life.
Reminds me when I finally left. (Yes, I, My Real I, Imagine the audacity of stripping the power of I from someone, telling them they are ‘many I’s! That alone is criminal isn’t it!)
Anyway, when I left, I said to another woman who stayed, that I was tired of watching her being berated in ‘class”.
She responded saying ‘I needed to hear that!’
No ! I bemoaned, You Dont Need to Be Berated, No One Does!
Freedom is being one’s whole self, one simple me,myself, and I, and knowing in my deepest self that I don’t Need or Want nor do I Have to, just sit there and be berated and disempowered, manipulated, and abused.
I Can Leave!
Freedom is deciding that enough is enough and making up one’s own mind. . . about everything to do with one’s own life. . . How else to be accountable?
” … Imagine the audacity of stripping the power of I from someone, telling them they are ‘many I’s! That alone is criminal isn’t it!”
Yep. Coercion. And we lived it — we don’t have to imagine, because we can remember. I raise my coffee mug to your Independence and Freedom!
